We bought and applied this product when my son started teething. It is VERY important to first thoroughly clean the surface where you plan on applying the strip with alcohol. If there is any oily residue, the adhesive will not stay put. Our son is now four, and our one-year-old daughter has inherited this crib. The original rail protector is still in place and not so much as a corner has started to lift.

When we discovered that our son was chewing his crib, we bought this product. I bought several of them, as he was also chewing on our tables in the living room. I applied the ones to the furniture in the living room, cleaning the surface as the instructions say. It stuck like a champ for two years until we took it off. On the other hand, my husband applied it to the crib, failing to clean the surface. That piece came off within the week. Once I cleaned the surface and reapplied the product, it remained in place for two years. This saved not only my son's convertible crib, but also our furniture from little baby teeth marks. Now, I'm buying it again for our second son! We LOVE this product.

When my daughter was teething she never bit on her crib, my son on the other hand just turned 1 and is working on his 5th tooth, and apparently is part beaver HA HA!! I have a convertable crib and my mother has an older crib with a smaller rail, I bought 2 of the same smaller sizes and it works great on both cribs, for my crib I put the wrap around the inside to the top half of the crib to protect the side he can get to, we haven't had any issues at all with it! it's great!

It Works for Us
We had ordered this just in time- the day before my daughter (8 mos) pulled herself up to standing in her crib and started chewing on the rail, taking small chunks out of the wood (we wanted to add fiber to her diet, but not that way!). [...]my husband installed it the night it arrived. We were nervous about the 8-10 hour "cure" time since we knew DD would be up and chewing within minutes of putting her down for the night, but lo and behold, it stayed put regardless. My husband had no trouble installing it, and now a month later it's still attached. She may be able to pull off the corners once she gets older, but hopefully by then she'll understand the crib is not for chewing
Wish we'd bought it sooner
We installed the Gummi Crib Rail too late to actually save our crib rail since it should have been installed before our daughter started teething. Once installed, it performed its function. My daughter has been chewing on it now for over 6 months and it has lasted well. Unfortunately she has worked the edge loose with her bottom jaw so the sticky application isn't perfect, but appearances aside, it works and provides comfort to my daughter and protection to the furniture
I plan to buy this product again
I bought this crib rail because my 10 month old son, who is actively teething, was gnawing the paint out of his crib rail. I was a bit skeptical at first because some of the reviews that I read stated that it did not work for some people. However, if you follow the directions and not take short cuts, the product works fine. I do recommend that you have a second person to help put it on. It works better if one person holds the gummi rail in place while the other takes off the sticky strip and presses onto crib rail. I've had it for about two weks now and it is still sticking just fine as my son actively chews on it. It has worked well for me on one rail so now I need to buy another for the second side! I do recommend this product as safe and effective.

The cover works great keeps my daughter from chewing on her crib. It does come up in some places at times, but just needs to be replied with heat to make it stick.

The first thing my son does when he stands up in his crib is gnaw on his crib rail. The Crib Rail Cover is safe and seems to be soothing. It is easy to install. However, it lifts at the ends and must be redone using heat from a hair dryer to rebond. All around, nothing less than a 4 star product
